That was extremely hilarious. I laughed and laughed and laughed and was almost titillated!

JW's and their phantom hall on Dead Man's Curve
by Gopher inthe jw's planned a double-hall near a dangerous curve in the road.
the project was ill-conceived, and now they're publicly whining about not getting it approved anyway.
obviously jehovah did not bless their efforts to push for a kingdom hall on this site.. http://www.connpost.com/ci_7020724?source=rss.

It would be more fitting for them to build it at a dead end instead of a curve.

Need Help Again! Article About "Pinatas" ...origins...what they mean today
by smellsgood indo you guys know which one i'm thinking of?
the one that flies in the face of all their other reasoning of banishing other celebrations/practices?
i'm meeting with a jw in the next week, so sorry for all the requests, but it's most helpful :)

C-A-N-D-Y
That's what it means in my area.
Recently, I gave a co-worker a birthday card with a picture of a donkey-shaped pinata, lying on the psychiatrist's couch.
The pinata asks his psychiatrist,"Where do I start?"
I think that is one of the funniest birthday cards I've seen.

average length is 550 to 600 pages, which means i've read 8800 to 9600 pages this summer, plus another 1000 or so of textbooks, plus all the online bs i read.
think i'm going to wear my eyes out?

Well, if you grew up reading only WB&TS lit, I can understand how you might have felt that way, heh heh!

A spiritual journey - but how?
by Awakened07 inas i've said a billion (well - at least ten, lol) times here before, i consider myself an atheist that wouldn't mind believing in a god if sufficient grounds to do so were presented to me.. as such, i have been toying with the idea of going on a spiritual journey, to see what i could find.
i was for a time thinking of making a thread here - in all seriousness and sincerity - where i would let you take part in several (possibly, unless i found what i was looking for right away) such steps, in which i would first 'test' the episcopalian (and some other christians') approach and sincerely ask jesus to enter my heart as my saviour and so on.
and that if i indeed experienced something from it, so be it - i would have to accept it and live by it.

Perhaps the simplest way to resolve the great dilemma is to follow physical paths exclusively.
I believe we benefit a great deal more from science than from fiction.
Although fiction can be fun and entertaining, it can also be a mindtrap, with religious "studies" at the top of the mindtrap/entertainment list; frequently resulting in little more than rote exercises in emotionalism and/or intellectual laziness and dishonesty.

Yeah, reading stories is much more entertaining; it is easy to go through a novel or two a week if that's all you're reading.
I have spent the whole summer, off and on, trying to get through The Ancestor's Tale, which is really interesting, but much more time-consuming than the fluff.
Science requires every ounce of my attention span to follow along, especially with the math stuff, most of which goes over my head.
I am almost through with it. I might have finished it sooner if I could have resisted the urge to entertain myself with a couple of novels in between.

I think that I've read about 7 or 8 books all summer (if you count a "graphic novel"). I only read at night, though. I am amazed that you've read that much in a few months. Wish my brain worked so well as to read that much. Of course, I work during the day (as little as I can get by with, though! Reading is much more interesting than my job).

Aw, shucks, honey! GW isn't smart enough for all that. Nor are his followers.
